ROYAL BANK OF CANADA

Royal Bank Canada

A total of 1.5 million square feet was programmed for a large bank and office rental space in downtown Toronto. Because of the extremes of climate, it was proposed to enclose the space between the two buildings with a glass skin. The form of this skin encloses the maximum amount of volume with minimum exterior surface, consisten with current technology.

This city within a city was intended to be a demostration of a system which, using available technnology and standard real estate practice and working with the normal budgetary allowances, large sections of the downtown area could be converted into a decent and humane environment.
