This building forms a background to an original banking pavilion and envelops a small, three-story wing, which was also part of that design. The same brick as is on the original building is used for the service cores, which are placed at the ends, leaving the center clear for workstations.
Connecting the masonry cores is a simple steel structure with open web trusses, into which the air supply and lighting are integrated every ten feet in between, with their ends supported by steel columns. A special green glass was developed with alternating reflecting-and-clear stripes, to give a greenhouse effect to the covered arcade that knits the original wing into the new composition and connects the main street to what was to become the site of the new Cummins headquarters.
On the north side is an open trellis, echoing the form of the greenhouse.
